Pulp's Top 5 Picks for International Fest

This year the University of Sydney Union (USU) is taking their International Festival online. Tune in to a bunch of virtual events tomorrow, including cooking demos, trivia competitions and performances which celebrate the diversity of USyd’s student communities and cultures. Here are Pulp’s top five picks for International Fest 2020: 

1. USUeats Food Truck Feast 
To get your International Fest off to a sweet start head down to the USUeats Food Truck to devour some delicious pancakes. The truck will be rolling up to Eastern Avenue at 9am and will be serving up this breakfast treat for free. 

If you are keen to get a taste of the international cultures that make up the USyd community, grab some lunch from the USUeats Food Truck. Serving up affordably priced, flavoursome dishes from 11am, this food experience will take you around the world from Eastern Avenue. 

2. Subtle Asian Traits Q&A
Founded in 2018, Subtle Asian Traits has become one of the largest online Asian communities, connecting over 1.8 million people across the globe. The group celebrates the similarities and differences within Asian cultures and subcultures through humour and memes. As part of International Fest, the USU is hosting a Zoom Q&A session at 12:30pm which will give you the chance to quiz the founders of Subtle Asian Traits. Submit your questions here

3. Budget Baking with Arkady Cake Boy
In this unique online workshop legendary Arkady de Jong, expert in all things baking will be teaming up with USyd registered dietitians to help you take your baking to the next level. The session will take you through the most important home baking tips while giving you helpful advice about how to make those study snacks a little bit more healthy. Register here

4. Spin and win
If you are on campus this Wednesday be sure to head down to Eastern Avenue at 11:30am to try your luck at the USU’s special International Fest edition of Spin and Win. Open to USU Reward members only, this event gives you the chance to win some amazing freebies and will be hosted by the USU Board. 

5. FabSoc’s Fashion Trivia 
Usyd’s very own Fashion and Beauty Society is bringing some style to International Fest with their Fashion Trivia event. The three round Kahoot will feature questions like “who wore this iconic outfit” to put your runway knowledge to the test. By heading along you will also be in the running to win a Takashi Murakami tote bag or a Bombshell and Banshee makeup voucher worth $80. Join here.
