USU Election: Teresa Li Has Dropped Out

University of Sydney Union (USU) Board candidate Teresa Li has dropped out of the race, prompting the USU Returning Officer to publish a new notice of candidates.

Li is a second-year Design Computing student and served as a marketing executive for the Chocolate Society. She was a relatively unknown candidate, who described herself as a left-leaning independent. Li’s campaign was going to be managed by Hon Ng.

Li’s departure has left 10 candidates to vie for the coveted positions of USU Board directors.

This year’s Board election is set to look different from previous years. Conducted completely online, students must be registered as USU members by May 15 to be able to vote.

The election will take place between Monday 18 and Friday 22 May.

Pulp has contacted Teresa Li for comment.
